Eve shares her thoughts after guiding at Mount Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem this morning. She literally just landed after a scholar in residence Shabbat in Fair Lawn, New Jersey with the lovely community of Shomrei Torah. It has been a week of ups and downs, trying to find the words for the emotions and situations that Israelis deal with constantly, from PTSD to celebrating a bar mitzvah by the graves of murdered brothers. May the number of the fallen on this Memorial Day stay static, and may we celebrate with heartfelt prayers and endless joy the 75th birthday of the rejuvenated Jewish state tomorrow.
