Jeremy Gimpel speaks to hundreds at rally sponsored by The Land of Israel Network weeks before the scheduled demolition of homes in the Jewish community of Elazar, Netiv Ha’Avot.
Translation from Hebrew to English:
Why did we come here today friends? (From crowd “to run!”). To run… but we’ve also come with a message for the residents of Netiv Ha’Avot. But what can we really say to them? There home might be destroyed! Everything they have will be destroyed! That could be. For What? On the route of the Patriarchs of Abraham and Isaac?! There lives will be ruined. There homes destroyed. So we’ve come here to say something. But what can we really say? We ran for you… We can’t stop the Supreme Court. So what are we saying? I think we’re saying two things. The first thing is that we love you, the residents of Netiv Ha’Avot. That’s why we’re here. We love you. We support you. We strengthen you. We hurt with you. If the temple was destroyed because of baseless hatred. This is neto pure love. We’ve come to here to say that to you.
The Piacezna Rebbe says, “The Greatest thing in the world you can do is to do good to someone else.” The residents of Netiv Ha’Avot do good to all of the Nation of Israel. So we are here to give back a little of that goodness. And so the second the thing we want to say is Thank you. You are doing good for all of Israel and All of the Nation of Israel owes you that goodness. Owes you thanks. You are heroes. You are real settlers. You are brave Jews and we appreciate you. We’ve come here today to show you that. Because we have nothing else to do other than love you. With Hashem’s help, the Temple will be rebuilt, Netiv Ha’Avot will be built. The youth deserve a lot of credit. They worked for hours and hours to pull this project off. They worked days and nights. Some late nights in my home. They never stopped working. To the activists in Neve Daniel, to all of Bnei Akiva who helped. You wouldn’t believe how many hours they invested to make this happen. No one told them to do this. They did it by themselves with their own abilities. That says the the next generation isn’t giving up. We just lower our heads and pray that it will be good. Another Gush Katif. More demolitions. More Amona. But the youth here don’t give up. And they’re saying to you, Thank you. An eternal people isn’t afraid of a long road. With Hashem’s help, we will do and we will succeed.
