Gil Hoffman speaks about the horrible terrorist attack that happened in Har Adar, a community populated by many people from the left end of the political map, and how it shows that terrorist attacks unfortunately unite people the same way that Jewish Holidays unite people. Gil expresses hope that Israel will become more united and America will become more united after a very divisive week in the United States.
In the second half of the show Gil discusses the tradition of Kaparot, in which a chicken is swung over the head of penitents and receives the sins of the penitents. This practice has become very controversial but Gil explains why it should continue.
